Can't wait to put together my main Library (tomorrow) and get things back up to speed. honestly now its more effective to do them in Quark than AI. I give Quark an A+, in this, AI gets a complete FAIL.
I wish I could say the same for Adobe Illustrator conversions. I really did fear I was going to have months of resetting this (catalog) from scratch, and it took just a few hours (with all the changes). But, maybe now I'll be able to master styles. I'm quite lost on the plethora of prefs and settings though, and job jackets/tickets elude me entirely at this stage. I just wish I could remember why or how I got it. It took a bit of futzing to get it to print out (but many apps have had difficulties) in the end I got it to work and ended up with better output than I've ever gotten out of that printer. Finally got this thing into the 21st century. It was NICE not to have to reset anything for every graphic box. the picture box doesn't revert to default size/scale etc when you change the picture name/file :) (It used to do that). Once I was sure the conversion was done I was able to go back in and change the file names and then re-set all the renamed graphics, and it's nice that things have progressed. Heck, some of the graphics were so legacy, tiffs weren't even labeled. The old version wasn't real great at that. I was already dreading having to spend Saturday morning reinstalling the OS - now I can do something more enjoyable.And meanwhile, I wish to let you know that my monster hyper-legacy project (continually modified for about 15 years) converted from 3.32 to 8.12 without a hitch :) I liked the fact this version was able to match up a few hundred graphics moved to a different OS and machine. It's now the same as if I scan from Preview, before it looked like the scan window of the old macOS The other difference is now that the scan window looks totally different. That started yesterday (But that could have been a reset by IC to a 50 dpi resolution which I didn't notice and saw just now) Scans were saved in the pictures folder rather than the folder I had selected. So I trashed all those (well right now just moved them to the desktop), launched Image Capture, that created just a single preference file for Image Capture and also seems to have solved two problemsġ. I just used the third option in the article - turns out I had four different image capture preference files, two from 2010.
I never knew Apple decided to hide the user library. Many thanks, ferrarr - that is a great article. Sort of a mystery to me how Image Capture even works t all with no preference files, at least not one I can find. Should all these folders on the right be there? Like Pando Packages, RightFont, SoftMaker, Ultimate USB Specs, test.txt? Now the scans using Image Capture are suddenly blurry - they are still fine if I use the Epson Scan software.
